The car bounces and your coffee spills out of top; even if the drink opening is closed. It does keep your coffee hot. Over-all, disappointed.

I have a lot of different Avantro products and I love them. I have this one as well. This item will keep your coffee really hot for over 2 hours. It has a lid with a slider to slide back for an opening to drink out of.

When you walk around, you can close the slider and your coffee will not slosh out. However, it is NOT leak-proof. If it falls on its side, coffee will leak out of the sides of the slider. But if you have a cup holder in your car -- that should not be a problem.

Avantro does make a spill- AND leak-proof thermal mug. It keeps coffee hot but only for about an hour. Also if you drop it and it hits on the right angel, you can crack the thermal seal and it becomes useless.

Avantro gives excellent customer service and if you receive a defective one (which I did from one of the major vendors here -- who would not take it back), Avantro will replace it with no questions asked.
