How does a company like Stanley/Aladdin design such a poor product.
I fell in love with the shape of this bottle and the assortment of colors it came in--I walked away from the display at a big box retailer with two of these guys both in blue. They're beautifully designed...visually. I thought I'd keep one at work and one to carry around with me in a large tote that doubles at work and gym bag.
Functionally, their performance is a joke. These things leak. Period.
At first I thought it was me not screwing the lids on tight enough--but am I really not screwing the lid on tight enough every single time I use these bottles? I don't seem to have this ridiculous issue with my Nalgene and Rubbermaid water bottles. Let me reiterate that point--I'm a hiker, a gym enthusiast, and am in general always going from one place to another with a bottle of water in my hand or in my bag. I use my Aladdin bottle for my Smoothies all the time. I enjoy the wide mouth lid because its great for the contents in my green smoothies and my oatmeal smoothies. I've never had this thing leek with any liquid content. It travels to the gym in my bag and in the car on my way to work.
I don't know what all you others are talking about. This thing is great and priced right.

I was looking for a water bottle that didn't leak. Unfortunately I did not read the label close. It says "leak resistant", not leak proof. If you shake this bottle it will leak. If it is not kept vertical, it will leak. If it tips over on your car seat, it will leak. My guess is that it would be almost empty in 30 minutes if kept horizontal. I guess I shouldn't be upset because it was me that didn't read the bottle, but what is the point in having a fancy water bottle if the contents just spill out. There are much better options out there. I'd suggest a different bottle.
