Do your part for the environment: Use this recycled travel mug for your take-out coffee instead of paper or Styrofoam cups. Not only does Aladdin make the mug from 100% FDA-approved recycled plastic, known as eCycle, but it's completely recyclable itself at any place that recycles plastic. (It's imprinted with the number 5 on the bottom.) Down the line, this mug may end up being transformed into outdoor decking, park benches, or planters. Comment: This is great for those cold mornings! I love the green color as well as the fact that it has been recycled as well as recyclable. Even better is that it can be microwaved. This makes it extremely handy for reheating tea and hot chocolate. It also fits into a standard car cupholder, which is perfect. This lid prevents spilling during car rides and walking from place to place. It is not, however, spill proof. If tilted on its side, it will definitely leak, but does fine if generally upright. If it does topple, the lid will prevent major disaster if you right it soon enough. This slight issue is outweighed by the benefit of being microwaveable, in my case.

Comment: I bought this because of the great reviews about this mug. The mug is only okay. I sometimes put my tumbler in my messenger bag when I need to use both hands. The lid to this mug is not leak proof and all my papers in my messenger bag got wet. This would be a great product if only the lid didn't leak.

Comment: It amazes me the plethora of travel mugs that are not dishwasher safe. Go to any store, pick up a mug and look at the bottom and you will often see that they are handwash-only, not dishwasher safe. These Aladdin version mugs are dishwasher safe, and also labeled microwave safe though that is not a feature I require. I lead a busy life "on the go" and one that does not covet the handwash experience. Put it in then machine, push the button, and move on!
