Summary: Use a straw 2008-12-01
Comment: I too love the Bubba Kegs. I tell everyone about mine. Especially since they are so big if you get the ones bigger than 24oz. I use a plastic straw with mine or throw away straws. It's easier to drink from that way. Plus, unfortunately they do sometimes leak, and sometimes I tighten mine so tight I can't get the lid off after. Maybe we should write to Bubba Keg about the seal on the lid. If a paper coffee cup with a lid can not leak, you'd think they could get other containers to not leak. I'd still get one for sure though. They can keep ice for 6 hours in a really hot car. Have yet to try it with hot liquids.

Comment: Bubba Keg 52 Oz Mug Black
I have to say that even though I have a few gripes about this mug, it is still my favorite. I had been looking for a large sized insulated cup to keep either cold water or my coffee in and I finally found it. I hated having to refill my 12oz or 16oz so often. Other than its good looks, it keeps ice for a very long time, even when I leave it in my Jeep for hours. Its a pretty big mug, so it wont fit into any known cup holder. My fix for this was to wrap a bungee cord around the passenger seat in my jeep to hold it.
As for my first and main gripe, the seal between the lid and the cup had leaked since the first day I got it. When your sipping coffee, it will drip from the seal down to your nice clean shirt. My fix for this was to simply manhandle the lid and torque it down nice and tight. Its a pain to get open afterward, but at least it wont drip on you. This method had worked for about 4 months until recently.
My second gripe is that the mug is made up of several sections and as I will explain is a con related to the bad seal. To tighten, I hold the very bottom of the mug and twist the the lid on really tight. As I'm tightening the bottom section of the mug is slightly spinning the opposite direction of the top section of the mug. The only reason it does not spin freely is because the two sections are held together by the handle. When the lid is tightened, the handle is twisted and leaning slightly at an angle. After being torqued and twisted so often, the handle is starting to tear off. I guess its time to get another one, though I wish they would fix the seal. 4 out of 5. I would give it a lower score, but like I said, its my favorite cup and it looks good too!

Summary: this is my baby 2007-10-04
Comment: i absolutely love my 52 oz. Bubba Keg! it's the best looking oversized mug i could find (so much better looking than the choices @ 7-11), and it really does keep things cold/hot for a very long time. i use this for work, either keeping ice water in it in the summer, or hot tea in the winter. it makes it easy to keep track of the fluid i am consuming throughout the day too. only drawbacks are that it (obviously!) doesn't fit in a car's beverage holder, and i had to repurchase after a year of (daily and dozens of drops) use because it began to leak from the seam. certainly worth the price!
