Summary: Worst mug ever... 2010-09-06
Comment: The clip to close the spout fell off immediately. Even with the lid closed, the coffee cools off in 10 minutes. The mug gets hot to the touch as soon as you fill it. Also the tiny gasket around the lid must be positioned exactly correctly or it leaks. A complete disaster!!

Summary: Boooo! 2010-09-02
Comment: I bought four of these and boy am I ever sorry I did. I carefully hand-washed them as recommended, and still the tabs on the top (that you use to open them) cracked, broke and finally fell off.... after less than six months of use! The colors are also peeling to reveal silver underneath... not what I'd expect in a $20 mug. So I contacted Contigo, thinking they'd make it right. Ha. After a couple of weeks they sent me new tops (I was under the impression they'd replace the mugs with new ones)... they're the same kind as were on it when I bought them, and they're already showing stress points and I'm sure they too will break in no time. Waste of money! To add insult to injury, they only kept my coffee lukewarm.

Summary: Decent but flawed 2010-08-18
Comment: These mugs are decent. They aren't the best insulated on the market, but I have never had a problem with them. My coffee stays hot for about an hour, then stays lukewarm for another two hours. That's good enough for me. The carabiner feature is neat, but I never found a practical use for it. The overall design is nice. The rubber grips feel quite good in the hand. The mug isn't exactly leak-proof, but it's fine if you don't plan on throwing it around.

While this isn't a terrible mug, it probably won't survive more than a few months of daily use. I have owned two of these mugs. The first one's pull-tab broke after about six months. I thought it was just a lemon so I bought another. My second mug lasted 8 months before it broke too. You can do better for the price. Amazon has a number of decent travel mugs in this price range, so I suggest spending a few more dollars to get something a bit more durable.

Anyway, as I see it, this mug has four major problems:

1) After a few months of daily use, the pull-tab breaks off right where it contacts the lid. I have had this happen to two of these mugs. Both broke in exactly the same spot. Once the pull tab is broken, the mug is practically useless. I was able to drill out the hole and insert a plastic wire tie through the hole to function as a makeshift pull-tab, but it looks ridiculous and I wouldn't want to take it to work.

2) This mug is supposed to be hand-wash only. It isn't designed for use in a dishwasher.

3) After a few months of daily use, the paint starts to peel off. While this is only an aesthetic problem, it does look pretty trashy. Again, I had this happen on both of my mugs.

4) The bottom piece of rubber is glued on, meaning that, unless you're very careful to never immerse this mug in water, it will eventually fall off.

Summary: disappointed 2010-07-26
Comment: After losing my 3rd Contigo travel mug, I was relieved to find it on Amazon after some searching.I truly loved that mug! However, this is not the same quality as mugs past. It feels lighter and the lid is different. I find that I get to wear my coffee now as it tends to leak, as was not my past experience. Woe is me, I thought the perfect mug was found, but now it is lost....

Summary: Just OK 2010-07-09
Comment: This mug is still around after a years use, but it is falling apart. The rubber bottom fell off and it doesn't create a great seal. Keeps coffee hot for a couple of hours and that's it. The pull tab is more annoying than helpful. It's hard to open when you're outdoors with gloves and trying to enjoy a warm cup of coffee. There are better options for you money.
