I really like this cup yet, like others, found the lid hard to drink from. I corrected this drilling a 1/16 inch hole in the lid opposite the opening. This allowed an entrance for air allowing the liquid to free flow. It is no longer spill resistant, but much more drinkable.

I do like this ceramic coated stainless steel insulated coffee mug for my morning coffee. As far as the lid I tried drinking out of the cup with it on and found that without a vent the coffee flow was restricted. I drilled a 1/8" hole on the opposite side of the lid as I had noted in a previously written review and that helped but my lips can only take so much of the heat that is transmitted to the plastic lid. Personally I don't trust a lid that just slips on top of a mug. So my next action I took was to remove the plastic lid and use the mug without the lip-burner. The coffee stays fairly hot to my last sip. I also find that the handle is user friendly and cool to the touch. I find that the base of the cup is also user friendly with the furniture as it is cushioned with a rubberized material and protects against...Read more

Attractive, but VERY fragile,

I wanted to love this mug sooo much, but it was just average. The mug looks beautiful and very attractive, and it's pleasant to sip out of WITHOUT the top on. With the top on you basically have to suck the liquid out, since there's no air vent. But the most detrimental thing for this mug is that the ceramic appears to be VERY thin. When I'd put hot tea or coffee in it, the ceramic top would get hot-to-the-touch almost instantly. Lastly, telling you not to drop this thing would be an understatement. I didn't drop mine from any height, it literally just was tipped over onto its side and cracked!
I absolutely love my Contigo travel mugs... but their foray into desk mugs is pretty average at best.
