Maxam 14oz Stainless Steel Travel Mug

This is our favorite travel mug. The lid push/pulls rather than screwing on and off. Although this makes it spill resistant rather than spill proof, my husband actually USES this one, whereas he wouldn't bother with the twist-top ones where you have to fiddle with aligning the opening to the right place. The push/pull top is faster and easier, especially if you have tremors or arthritus. We've used them in the car and never had a problem with spills. He also uses it in the house because his hands shake from tremors and this prevents a mess. I like the smaller size of this mug to take to church because it fits more easily into my purse. The lid has a slider to cover the opening and keep the coffee warm. It keeps coffee hot for a reasonable period, depending on whether the slider is open or closed. This is my favorite travel mug. It fits well in my car's cup holders. 14 ounces is more than I need. Bigger ones would be less stable.

Unlike the ones with the twist on tops, this mug has no ledge that catches a few drops of coffee when I fill it, and then dribles them on my shirt when I drink.

Aladdin used to make a "no ledge / no dribble" 12 oz. travel mug but they are now as rare as dodo birds.

The lid has a silicone rubber seal. It's easy to take on and off. I think it is secure enough. I filled it with water, turned it upside down, and shook vigorously. The lid remained in place. I don't know if the lid will remain in place when dropped on the floor. I guess so. If you need to know, you will have to buy one. When you find out, please let me know. ;)

When I first got this mug, it looked okay. Fairly cheap looking, yet simple, mug. However, I then noticed the handle seemed a little bit loose: annoying but not a deal-breaker. But then I washed it for the first time (before using), and water seeped into and got stuck in the middle of the mug from my sink. This was followed by rusting around the handle. Fortunately, Amazon refunded my money. Not sure if I just got a lemon, but I think this is just a cheap, low-quality prouct, so you're taking your chances.
