I've bought 4 Funtainers and they work really well! I recently tested them over 3 very hot (90+ degree) and very long days at the Sesame Place amusement park which has very little shading. I was impressed by how well they worked.
OVERVIEW
========
All Funtainers are BPA free. That's the main reason why I bought them. The lids fit very well and if properly screwed on, they will not leak.
TEMPERATURE CONTROL
===================
The Funtainers work very well in keeping things cool in the 3-4 hour range.
If you will be out all day (such as during a heat wave at a theme park) you can further extend the cooling protection for an additional few hours by doing the following:
- Use an insulated lunch box/soft cooler
- Use an ice pack

We have been buying various containers for our son to take a packed lunch (such as soup or pasta) that will stay warm until lunch time. Having tried the Bento ones but being disappointed as it does not keep the food warm for the suggested duration.
This thermos one does and is almost perfect. It is smaller than the Bento but packs enough food for lunch for our 7-year old. However the lid is a bit awkward for small hands to open and they are likely to require assistance from an adult to open, which we think is a bit of a design flaw.
Otherwise perfect product.
Really nice thermos.,

My son loves star wars so loves to carry this thermos to school. He is in kindergarten and most of the time is able to open the thermos by himself. On the few occasions it was too tight to open, a teacher assisted him. It keeps food warm for approximately 4 hours in our experience. I have sent fish, meat, and veggie and rice, and the food has never spoiled in this thing. Nice investment. We have used it regularly for 3 months now and never had an issue with leaks.
