(You must buy your own clip.) The acrylic "straw tip" that you touch to your lips is solidly built, and long enough so that you won't bump your nose while drinking. The straw tip connects to a softer plastic straw that descends to the bottom of the jar so you do not have to tilt it to drink. The transparent design of the jar makes it easy to see how much water you have left, and the opening is large enough to put ice into, and it is easy to clean. One problem. If you take this with you from the outdoors into your (hot) car, and then after driving a few blocks try to take a drink, water will shoot out of the straw like a geyser as the pressure equalizes. If you have a problem with the bottle spitting back the liquid, take the top off. Underneath, there is a circular white rubber tab. Take it out. Voila. Problem solved. 12 of 14 people found the following review helpful: By This review is from: Thermos Intak Hydration Bottle (Kitchen) I bought this water bottle at Target and was really excited about the straw gimmick. It seemed to work well initially, but I quickly found out that the mechanism to equalize pressure within the bottle often gets suctioned to itself and thus doesn't let any air in or out. Well, you know what that means: if I pour cold water or tea into the bottle, when I flip up the straw and try to drink it, it squirts out all over the place in order to equilibrate with the surroundings! It's a horrible design. If you try to quickly suck up the water before it squirts out the straw, it squirts out of the sides instead! There's no escaping it. It is horrible. Do not buy this water bottle...buy a Nalgene instead. If I could give this product zero stars, I probably would, but if you like compact, nice-looking water bottles that overflow all over you, your backpack, your table, your important papers...this is the perfect product for you! |
