I purchased the Thermos Stainless Steel Wide Food Jar for my husband, who is a truck driver and can't always stop for a hot meal. I preheat the thermos with hot water and then pour in the hot soup/stew and it stays piping hot until he is ready to eat. Additionally, due to its durability, there's no leakage problems if dropped. I would recommend this product to anyone who needs to eat on the run and enjoys a hot meal.

I bought this version of the stainless steel evacuated thermos because it has a wide mouth that facilitates cleaning and can also be used by the kids for soups and stews. The thermos will keep my coffee hot all morning. Even if I forget to bring it to work the coffee is still at a nice drinking temperature when I get home. I now have two because I occasionally leave the thermos at work. The first one I bought over 4 years ago. It is dented and dinged, but still performs perfectly. I even use the thermos on the weekends to store the remaining coffee in the coffee maker for later in the morning. I like it because the coffee doesn't continue to cook and my environmental daughter likes it because I'm lowering my carbon foot-print by not leaving the coffee pot heater turned on.

I purchased this for my husband who works outside all winter. At 6:00 I pour hot tap water into it, seal it and leave it for 15-20 mins. After I empty the tap water I add piping hot soup / stew and it is still hot 8 hours later when he has his lunch.
The container fits about three good sized coffee mugs worth of stew which is more than enough for my husband who has a very healthy appetite.

I would happily recommend this to anybody.
