STAINLESS STEEL BACKPACK TUMBLER,
Amazon.com Review
Virtually unbreakable, this lightweight, vacuum-insulated thermos travels to work or your favorite recreation spot. On arrival, and for hours afterward, coffee, tea, or soup will still be hot. Or lemonade, pasta salad, or a sports drink will still be chilled. Compact (7 inches high) and shapely, this thermos has a "waist" for firm gripping indented in its satin-finish exterior and tough, nonslip, black plastic top and bottom. There's a choice of two twist tops, one for coffee and another, with a stainless steel strainer, for tea--each has a sip-hole, and a cap twists onto either to prevent spills. Fine threading ensures tops and cap seal tightly, while the smooth interior cleans with sponge or cloth. Preheating or prechilling with hot or cold water is recommended. --Fred Brack

Summary: Great Thermos 2010-08-27
Comment: I was looking for a replacement to my typical mug and drop in tea infuser as it was getting pretty bad. This thermos definitely fit the bill nicely. It keeps my tea hot while keeping the outside nice and cool to the touch (which can lead to a burnt tongue if you are not careful). It cleans well and provides a decent amount of room for tea leaves (it could be slightly bigger though). Cleaning is a snap. My only two gripes are that it does take quite a few steps to brew the tea. You have to actually change the top and take the lid and move it from one top to the other. Providing a second lid would have made it a little better. Also trying to tell when to stop filling the thermos with the tea infuser still on is a bit of a pain, but you get the hang of it. All in all I am pretty happy with this purchase.
PS - As an added bonus the thermos works very well as a bell:)

Summary: Quality item 2010-07-30
Comment: Quality item all the way. I primarily use it to sip cold water or hot tea.
I thought the item was a little small but in fact I rarely finish the whole contents off. I think if I had an option on a 16 ounce size I would consider it, so I knocked off one star because of the size.
All said and done however, it makes a nice gift or something to keep for yourself.
Comment: Some might want a larger size (not I). This is PERFECT! Keeps coffee hot for hours, exterior is always cool to the touch.
The two part lid can be used travel mug style or unscrewed completely for use like a regular tumbler. The coffee will still be hot when you get where you're going (unless it takes more than 4 hours to get there), so this is actually a salient feature.
Lid always seals perfectly: never a spill.
Sharp & understated appearance, comfortable to grip. Doesn't have a handle, but I don't care.

Summary: Great tea Tumbler 2010-07-21
Comment: I have a Thermos Tea Tumbler I use at work. I bought this one for travel. It works great as a travel mug just as expected. It also makes a great "cup" of tea.

Summary: A couple of specific usability design flaws, otherwise great 2010-07-19
Comment: I'd rate this a 3.5, rounded up. I can't speak to the tea strainer because I seem to have lost it. Anyway, if you're after a "handle-less steel vacuum-insulated travel mug with lid," this generally fits the bill.
This is a great little insulated travel tumbler at just the right capacity for me, and normally I'm inclined to like Thermos Nissan products, but there are a couple design issues as I've used it over the years.
1) It's hard to thread. There are two tops (without the infuser), and the lower one you drink from does not seem to *naturally* thread on straight. I have to place my tumbler on a level table and eye it carefully while I screw on the bottom drinking cap to make sure it's level. This is extremely important to avoid any spillage.
2) The lid grip is thin and hard to remove. Once you screw on both the drinking top and the lid tightly, this tumbler won't leak (two silicone rings). But the lid has a thin grip, and if both are screwed on tightly enough, there's a good chance you'll screw off both the drinking top AND the lid at the same time. You have to hold the bottom drinking top while unscrewing the lid to make sure that doesn't happen.
Those are two rather important usability issues I've noted. Otherwise, this does keep things hot/cold and is snazzy enough to use at the office.
