Comment: This would be a great thermos if the top fit correctly. As it is, the top won't go on tight...allowing a slight drip. It slips as you try to tighten it down. Not a good thing when you've got hot coffee in it. Too bad.

Comment: I originally purchased one of the tumblers about 10 years ago and just recently misplaced it so this purchase is a replacement. After the original was lost, I experimented with several other aluminum tumblers that looked similar and cost less, and they were OK, but they just do not hold a candle to the insulating quality and durability of this model.
I read some negative reviews about this unit before I placed the order. I agree, the top plug (through which one drinks) is not designed to be water tight seal so that can sometimes present a problem, but that's a trade-off I'm more than willing to accept for the superior insulating qualities and general durability of the unit.
Another negative issue mentioned related to the rubber seal in the lid and it was never a problem for me in the old unit, but I am pretty picky about cleaning the the thing after I use it. I never had any mold build-up or foul smell. I can only speak for myself, but I suspect this is a case of folks not properly cleaning it after use. Sort of reminds me of the carpenter that blames his tools.

Summary: Great People~Excellent Product 2010-07-16
Comment: This company was great in getting my order out & to me, as I was going on a trip & really needed it. I have other Nissan products, & they are excellent. I have 2 of the Nissan thermos's one regular & one extra large for deer hunting, so this 18oz. cup is perfect. If 5th hope will send me sale flyers, I will keep buying from them. I don't think they went out of their way to get it to me, but I beleive their policy is good products, & excellent delivery schedule. I can't say enough good about them, as they even emailed me to let me know when it should get here, & that's part of them being a great place to buy from.

Summary: Like going into battle with a bazooka in your hand! 2010-06-17

If you were going into battle and you could choose to carry a BB gun or a bazooka, which one do you think would fill you with total confidence that you could prevail, regardless of what was waiting for you on the battlefield? Well if you're a serious coffe drinker, this my friend, is your bazooka.
I've been using my current Coffee Transportation Unit (a Thermos-Nissan 14 oz. leak-proof travel mug) for about 3 years now. Great mug, but a tad undersized. My "CDD" (Caffeine Delivery Device) needs to not ever run out in the heat of battle (or an average work day). So I ordered this "heavy weapon". Well it just arrived today and all I can say is HOO-RAH! I just loaded it and man do I feel invincible. Nothing can touch me now. This thing is big, solid, has a good "heft" to it, and will not run out of ammo in the middle of a fire-fight. I am untouchable!
That's what a big cylinder of mean-ass stainless steel filled with 18 ounces of hot lead (I mean strong java) will do for your self confidence. Did I mention that I am now untouchable?
You need one of these. Your confidence of getting through any situation will go through the roof. AWESOME!
