Product Review

The THERMOS Shuttle Chef RPC-6000 thermal cooker with a single 6L and two 3L inner pots is a healthy, economical and convenient way to cook. Assemble all the ingredients in the inner pots, put it on the stove and bring to a boil. Then remove the inner pots from the stove and place it inside the outer vacuum insulated steel thermal container that will keep the contents of the stainless steel cookware hot. There is no need to plug in any power cord. The food will continue its thermal cooking process using the retained heat in the food and water from your recipe. After the required time (approx. 30 min for rice; 2 hrs for chicken stock or soups; 3.5 hrs for beef and meats), just open the outer thermo pot, and a nutritional and flavorful meal is hot and ready. The THERMOS stainless steel vacuum insulated Thermal Cooker has excellent heat retention capacity; the food inside the pot can retain a temperature of about 160 degree Fahrenheit even after 6 hours. It's safe to leave unattended because there is no power or pressure needed to cook. The thermal cooking process requires no further supervision or monitoring. Food from your favorite slow cooker recipes can be cooked while you are traveling. You can cook with the thermal cookware anywhere, anytime and it's safe to use indoors or out. It saves money because after the food as been placed inside the outer thermal pot there is no extra energy needed to maintain the heat or cold for the next 6 to 12 hours. Entraps flavor, minerals and vitamins; generates less odor, grease and smoke in the kitchen. Never over cooks and cleans up easily. This is great stuff to get prepared with. Note: Shipping to Alaska & Hawaii requires additional postage. Please contact seller for quote and shipping arrangements.

Great product. I used it twice since I got it, one for soup and the other for curry. Both times they're amazing.

The first meal I made with the Shuttle Chef was curry. In the past when I make curry I have to cut the potatoes in huge pieces because by the time the food is cooked the potatoes lost half of their size by constant boiling. But with the Shuttle Chef all pieces retain their shape but still being cooked to perfection. That's because the inner pot was on the stove for only 20 mins, and the outer vacuum insulated pot kept the food at the same temp for the 6 hours I was away, all without additional heat and movement.

At this price it might sound expensive, but think about all the gas/electricity you can save in a long run, not the mention the convenience. A 4-hour cooking only takes 20-30 minutes on stove and you can walk away, sleep or drive to your friends' house and the food will be cooked and ready to serve. Can you really fall asleep or go shopping...Read more

I purchased this set a couple years ago from Get Prepared Stuff. Regarding the company who sells this...they are fantastic and provide excellent service. Regarding this Thermal Cooker set...I am so very pleased with it. I have used it when going on driving trips. Usually a pot of rice (my brown rice cooks up perfectly in it!) and a pot of vegetable stew or beans or lentils with vegetables--it works with all my recipes. I heat it on the stove and then pack it in the thermal container. A few hours later, it's hot and ready to eat--so it's great on the road. But I don't only use it on road trips, I also use it at home. Instead of cooking on the stove, it saves electricity and my having to constantly check on it to make sure my food doesn't boil over, or burn, or whatever. I initially bought this to be able to save fuel in case of power outage, or some other foreseen disaster that would halt conveniences. I have recommended this product to many people, and know of a couple of...Read more
