I am giving this cool jug five stars because I bought it to store ice in so that I could pull a few cubes out when I needed them, etc. To test it and find out if it was worth the high price I filled it with ice cubes and waited for them to melt and waited and waited and waited. The ambient temperature of the room it is in is about 70 degrees F on average and after nearly 10 days I still have some ice. I opened it to check maybe a dozen times and drank some of the cold water along the way and even poured a cup of water into it to get the melting process started as it didn't produce any liquid at all the first two days. It is only for cold drinks and if you put cold beverages into it you will have to clean it and cleaning it is IMO going to be a chore as the top is kinda complicated. I only plan on using it for ice or ice water so that I will rarely be cleaning it. Love this jug, I have been looking for a quality water jug, this is just what I wanted. I got so tired of the cheap plastic ones.

This jug is fantastic for the length of time it keeps beverages cold! I filled this with cold water and (3) 2" square ice cubes, (yes, they are the BIG cubes), then took it golfing on 10/20, then used it 6-7 times at home. In a span of 4 1/2 days, the water stayed almost as cold as if it had just come out of the refrigerator! I never added another cube or cold water during those 4 1/2 days. In fact, the ice cubes I originally put in just finished melting this morning (10/24). Do THAT with those plastic disasters. Of course, it will dent if slammed. It is what it is. Sorry, Amazon, but I found this on another site for 1/2 of your price here. That being said, I may get another and look into the smaller ones for hot liquids. This jug is a keeper!
